Tigers Fall to City Rival Jefferson, 74-63



Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University men's basketball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at city rival Jefferson by the score of 74-63 on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center.

How It Happened
 
* Jefferson opened the game on an 11-2 run and would never trail in the game. Holy Family, playing catch up the entire game, came within two points of the Rams lead at the 6:41 mark of the first half.  Junior Vincenzo Dalessandro (Levittown, Pa./Conwell Egan (Pace Univ.)) knocked down a three-pointer to make the score 23-21.  However, the Rams went on a mini 5-0 run to grab a 28-21 advantage and would go on to lead 35-29 at the half.
 
* In the second half, the Tigers came within three points on three occasions early on in the half with the latter coming at the 13:25 mark.  Freshman Kharon Randolph (Philadelphia, Pa./Haverford School) knocked down a jumper to make the score 44-41.  The Rams responded with a 6-0 run over the next five minutes to increase their lead to 50-41.
 
* Jefferson's lead hit double-digits for the first time after a three-pointer by Deondre Bourne made the score 58-46 with 4:45 to play.  The Rams lead swelled to as many as 14 points after another Bourne three made the score 62-48 with less than three minutes left in regulation.
 
News and Notes
 
* Freshman Patrick Robinson III (Chesterfield, N.J./Conwell Egan) led the Tigers with a game-high 21 points marking his third 20-plus point performance of the season.  Robinson connected from 8-of-13 from the field, including 2-of-2 from deep range.
 
* Randolph also scored in double-figures as he finished with 14 points to go along with three rebounds and a team-high four assists.
 
* Bourne led the Rams with 20 points after knocking down 5-of-10 from three-point range.  Kylan Guerra added 16 points while dishing out a game-high nine assists.  Guerra also grabbed six rebounds.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 16 as the Tigers travel to face the University of the District of Columbia in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 1 p.m.
