Goal Scorers

How It Happened

* Two first half goals was more then enough offense for the Tigers.  Freshman Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados/Church Farm) gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute with his fourth goal of the season.  Richmond intercepted a clear attempt by the Caldwell defense and was able to get a shot off from outside the box for the score.

* Holy Family doubled the lead in the 38th minute when junior Shane Holmes (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge (Harcum College)) connected on his first goal of the season and first in a Holy Family uniform.  Holmes attempted a header shot off a long pass from freshman Georg Montag (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) off a free kick.

News and Notes

* Junior Mark Tobin (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (La Salle Univ.)) recorded his third shutout of the season after making three saves in net.

* Holy Family outshot the Cougars, 14-11, and held a slight 4-2 edge on corner kick attempts.

Senior Recognition
Prior to the game Holy Family honored its four seniors in part of Senior Day festivities.  This year's senior class included, Matt McWilliams (Trevose, Pa./Archbishop Wood), Mark Pohl (Feasterville, Pa./Father Judge), Joseph Stock (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and Matt Tracey (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington).

Postseason Bound
Holy Family is postseason bound for the first time since 2013.  The Tigers are currently tied for sixth place in the CACC standings.  Pending how the final few games on the conference schedule play out, Holy Family could finish as high as fourth or as low as eighth.

All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 22nd meeting between Holy Family and Caldwell since the start of the 1997 season.  The Tigers are now 9-12-1 versus the Cougars in the all-time series.

Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 23 as the Tigers travel to face Georgian Court University in the team's final conference game of the season.  Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. in Lakewood, N.J.
