Tigers Clinch 20th Straight Postseason Berth With Win at Felician



Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's soccer team officially clinched a spot in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) after defeating Felician University, 3-0, on Saturday night at the Lyndhurst Rec Field.

How It Happened
 
* Senior Bree Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) recorded her third hat trick of the season after scoring three goals in the final 17 minutes of the game.  Rock broke a 0-0 tie in the 74th minute with her first of three goals.  Senior Alyssa Christiansen (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) assisted on the play after sending a long pass towards inside the box. 
 
* Rock struck again in the 81st minute to double the Tigers lead.  Less than a minute later Rock scored yet again to finish off the hat trick.  It marked her conference leading 15th goal of the season. 
 
News and Notes
 
* With her three goals Rock now has 48 in her career tying the program's NCAA Division II era record with fellow standouts Dawn Curry (2008-11) and Megan Tole (2009-12).  
 
* Freshman goalkeeper Alayna McSeed (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) recorded her third shutout of the season after making two saves.
 
* The Holy Family defense limited Felician to just three shots for the game.  It marked the eighth game this season that the Tigers held their opponents to single digit shots.
 
Postseason Here We Come
Holy Family officially clinched a spot in the CACC tournament marking the program's 20th straight appearance.  The Tigers have qualified for the postseason each year since joining the CACC in 1999.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 24th meeting between Holy Family and Felician since the 1999 season.  The Tigers are now 16-5-3 versus the Golden Falcons in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 16 as the Tigers travel to face Shepherd University in a non-conference contest.  Game time is 3:30 p.m.
