How It Happened

* Holy Family outscored Wilmington, 25-10, over the course of the first 16-plus minutes of the game.  The Tigers held an 18-8 lead after the first quarter and swelled their advantage to as many as 15 points by scoring seven of the first nine points of the second quarter.  Junior Katie O'Hare (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) drained a three-pointer at the 6:40 mark that gave the Tigers a 25-10 edge.

* The Tigers saw their lead dwindle down to seven points by half time at 30-23, but quickly increased the lead back to double-digits after scoring the first four points of the third quarter.  However, Wilmington nearly erased the 11-point deficit and by the end of the quarter only trailed by two points at 45-43.

* Wilmington tied the game at 45-45 to open the final quarter but the Tigers never folded.  Holy Family scored eight straight points bookend by three-pointers from senior Alexis Hofstaedter (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South (William & Mary)) and freshman Anjelai Hayes (Woodbury, N.J./Woodbury) to give the Tigers a 53-45 lead with 7:10 to play.

* The tied tie to open the quarter would be as close as the Wildcats would get as Holy Family never trailed in the game or down the stretch despite the pressure put on by its opponent.  Free throws played a factor in the game as the Tigers converted 14-of-16 for the game with all their attempts coming in the second half.  Wilmington finished the game 10-of-17 from the line.
