How It Happened

* The Wildcats struck first as Lorne Bickley scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 18th minute to give Wilmington a 1-0 advantage.  Bickley received a cross pass from Ben Jordan to set up the play.

* Wilmington took a 1-0 lead into halftime before Holy Family lit up the scoreboard with a goal in the 68th minute.  Off a free kick just outside the box along goal side, senior Mariano Cepeda (Philadelphia, Pa. (Argentina)/Roman Catholic) launched a pass inside and found sophomore Gilbert Anokye (Philadelphia, Pa. (Ghana)/Northeast) for the score.  Anokye's shot beat the goalie on the right side for his first goal of the season.

* Twenty-four seconds after Holy Family tied the game at 1-1, Wilmington responded when Abdul Mansaray scored an unassisted goal to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead.

* Holy Family nearly tied the game in the 76th minute but a shot by freshman Sean McCormick (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) was stopped by Wilmington goalkeeper Vinny Tasca. Later in the half the Tigers had a corner kick attempt in the 88th minute but were unable to get a shot off on the attempt.

Inside the Box Score
Junior goalkeeper Mark Pohl (Feasterville, Pa./Father Judge) kept the Tigers in the game as he finished with a season-high seven saves… Wilmington outshot the Tigers, 16-5, and also held the advantage on corners, 9-3.  The Holy Family defense managed to hold off the Wildcats on their corner kick attempts by only allowing two shots; one on target in which Pohl made the save.

All-Time Series
Today marked the 19th meeting all-time between Holy Family and Wilmington dating back to the 2000 season.  The Wildcats improve their edge on the series with a 13-3-3 record.
