Game One: Holy Family 5, Concordia 0
Two Innings. Five Runs. That's all the Tigers needed in the opener to take care of business against the Clippers.  Freshman Alina Ponce de Leon led the first inning with a solo home run over the left field fence for her first collegiate long ball.  Later in the inning the Tigers received back-to-back run scoring doubles from junior Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) and senior Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) to grab an early 3-0 advantage.

Holy Family added a pair of runs in the second inning to increase the lead to five runs.  A two-out single by Ponce de Leon kept the inning alive as freshman Kelsey Marigliano (Seaford, N.Y./Plainledge) followed with run scoring double.  Two batters later Orozco reached base on an infield hit to shortstop that scored Marigliano.  It also marked Orozco's 100th career hit.

With the Tigers leading 5-0, senior Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) cruised through the Clippers lineup allowing just five hits in seven innings of work.  Walters (5-3) picked up her fifth win of the season as she struck out four batters on the afternoon.

Ponce de Leon was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate as she scored twice and drew a walk.  Orozco and Scotto each went 2-for-3 in the game.

Game Two: Holy Family 8, Concordia 2
The Holy Family offense continued to be friendly towards its pitching staff as the Tigers erupted for four runs in two separate innings providing Orozco plenty of support.  Sophomore Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash./Shorecrest) and freshman Jessica Wisuri (Modesto, Calif/Beyer) led third inning off with back-to-back singles.  Ponce de Leon then dropped down a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners setting up Marigliano.

Marigliano delivered a two-run triple to right-center field to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.  Favinger then stepped in a launched a two-run shot over the leftfield fence for her team-leading fourth home run of the season to double the Tigers lead.

After yielding a run to the Clippers in the top of the sixth, Holy Family responded with another four-run outburst to grab an 8-1 lead heading into the final inning.  The first three batters in the inning reached base before sophomore Samantha Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) came in the pinch-hit with the bases loaded.  Klem was hit by the first pitch she saw resulting in a run scoring.  Nolan and Wisuri then drove in a run each on ground balls in the infield before Ponce de Leon capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly to left field.

The Clippers squeaked an unearned run across in the seventh inning thanks to a run scoring single by Samantha Krisa.

Orozco (11-6) earned her 11th win of the season as she pitched a complete game allowing just two runs (1 earned) on seven hits.  She also struck out a season-high six batters in the winning effort.

All-Time Series
Today marked the 15th and 16th meeting all-time between Holy Family and Concordia dating back to the 2010 season.  The Tigers are now 14-2 versus the Clippers in the series after extending their winning streak to six games.

100 Hit Club
Orozco is the second Holy Family player to reach the 100 hit milestone this season.  In the second inning of game one, Orozco's infield single to shortstop marked her 100th career hit.  Earlier this season, Favinger also reached the milestone in the team's victory versus Assumption College down in Clermont, Fla.

Holy Family has played four doubleheaders at its home field this season and has come away with eight victories.  Since moving its home field to Bensalem High School last season, the Tigers are an impressive 19-3 at home.
