Game One: Holy Family 5, Georgian Court 1
Holy Family scored the game's first runs in the second inning supplying starting pitcher Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) all the run support she would need.  Back-to-back singles by senior Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) and Orozco followed by a walk from junior Jen Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) set the Tigers up for a potential big inning.  With two outs, freshman Jessica Wisuri (Modesto, Calif/Beyer) drew a bases loaded walk to score Orozco.  Freshman Alina Ponce de Leon followed with a ground ball to shortstop but Trapp beat the throw to the plate to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

The Tigers tacked on another run in the third inning thanks to a run scoring single by Scotto to make the score 3-0.  Holy Family would add two more runs, this time in the seventh inning.  Scotto connected on a double to right-center field to score junior Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.).  Scotto would later score on a Georgian Court error to give the Tigers a 5-0 cushion entering the bottom of the seventh.

Orozco's (5-3) only blemish in the run column came in the seventh when she surrendered her only run of the game. Prior to the final frame, Orozco held the Lions to just two hits while striking out four batters.

Game Two: Holy Family 16, Georgian Court 3
After allowing two runs in the first inning, the Holy Family offense responded in a big way.  The Tigers exploded for seven runs off six hits in the second frame to take an early commanding leader over the Lions.  Favinger highlighted the inning with a two-run double after back-to-back singles from Ponce de Leon and freshman Kelsey Marigliano (Seaford, N.Y./Plainledge) drove in runs.  Sophomore Samantha Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) and Scotto also had run scoring hits in the inning.

The offense continued to scorch the Georgian Court pitching in the third inning as the Tigers plated five more runs.  Freshman Rachael Zeides (Woodbine, N.J./Ocean City) hit her first career home run; a three-run shot; after Trapp and sophomore Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash./Shorecrest) drew walks to start the inning.

Wisuri (1-2), who relieved Orozco, picked up her first win in the pitching circle after closing out the final 4.1 innings of the game. She allowed one unearned run on three hits while striking out two.
