How it Happened
The game was sent into overtime after freshman Dena Noiseux scored her first collegiate goal for Philadelphia as her score in the 85th minute tied the game at 2-2.  That was after Holy Family scored back-to-back goals in the 60th and 62nd minute to grab the lead.  The Tigers tied the game thanks to a foul by Philadelphia resulted in a penalty kick opportunity.  Senior Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS) connected on the attempt for the team's first goal of the game and season.  Minutes later another foul by Philadelphia led to a Holy Family score.  Sophomore Alyssa Christiansen (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) launched the free kick inside the box to find junior Shannon Metzler (Erial, N.J./St. Josephs (Hammonton)) as she headed the ball into the back of the net.  Metzler's first goal of the season gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minute.

Inside the Box Score
Holy Family: The Tigers nearly ended the game on two occasions in overtime.  A shot by redshirt sophomore Stefanie Ulmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Delaware Valley HS Center City) hit off the crossbar in the 99th minute and then a shot attempt by sophomore Brianna Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) in the 103rd minute ended in the same result hitting off the top bar.  Earlier in the game, senior Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) opened the second half with a near-goal but her shot bounced off the crossbar as well. Holy Family led the game with 23 shots with 10 coming on-goal. Rock led the game with six shots, while Ulmer and Coyle each tallied four shots apiece.  Senior goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) made eight saves in net after facing 15 shots by the Rams.

Philadelphia: The Rams managed just one shot in the two overtime periods but finished with 15 shots with 10 coming on goal. Philadelphia controlled the corners with seven corner kick attempts compared to just two by the Tigers.  Junior Alex Reyes scored the game's first goal in the 40th minute when she launched a shot from the far left wing.  Her shot managed to find its way over the leaping hands of Smith to give the Rams the 1-0 lead entering halftime.  Junior goalkeeper Deanna Messner made eight saves in net in her debut with the Rams.
