Game 1: Holy Family 8, Chestnut Hill 0
Sophomore starting pitcher Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) had plenty of run support in an outing in which she allowed just five base runners all game.  Orozco limited Chestnut Hill to four hits in five innings of work while striking out three on her way to her second consecutive shutout victory.

Holy Family opened its half of the first inning with a pair of runs to take an early lead.  Sophomore Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) drove in junior Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) on a base hit to left field.  Sophomore Jenna Vasquez (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy), who singled earlier in the inning, also scored in the inning as Holy Family led 2-0.

The score remained that way until the bottom of the fourth when Favinger launched a shot over the center field fence for her fourth home run of the season.  Later in the inning, seniors Alexis Maggi (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) and Kristine Casey (Newark, Del./Caravel) hit back-to-back singles to keep the inning going.  Both would score after sophomore Jennifer Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) hit a fly ball to left field when Chestnut Hill senior Nicole Carney misplayed the ball allowing Maggie and Casey to score.  The two-run error gave the Tigers a 5-0 advantage.

Finally in the fifth inning, Holy Family put the game to rest on one swing of the bat.  With two runners on base, freshman Samantha Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) hit a walk-off home run towards left field to give the Tigers an 8-0 victory.  It marked the second long ball of the season for Klem.

Favinger finished the game a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate to go along with two runs and two RBI.  Vasquez also had multiple hits in the game as she went 2-of-3 with two runs.

Game 2: Holy Family 10, Chestnut Hill 4
In the nightcap Holy Family took advantage of six Chestnut Hill errors that led to 10 runs, nine of which were unearned.  The Tigers scored the game's first runs with a pair of runs in the first inning.

Chestnut Hill responded with three runs in the top half of the second to grab its first lead of the day.  Carney highlighted the inning with a two-run triple as the Griffins led 3-2.

The lead didn't last long as Holy Family rallied for five runs in its half of the second.  Senior Alicia Alvarado (Palmdale, Calif./Paraclete) led the inning off with a single and advanced to second after junior Ashleigh Sharp misplayed the ball in centerfield.

Chestnut Hill starter, senior Kaitlyn Johnson, managed to strikeout the next two batters and appeared to have escaped the inning without any damage.  However, Scotto drove in Alvarado with a base hit and then Vazquez followed with another single.  Favinger stepped to the plate and hit a fly ball to left field but another costly error by Carney led to two more runs by the Tigers as both Scotto and Vazquez scored.

Klem followed with her second home run on the day this time a two-run shot over the left field fence as the Tigers took a 7-3 lead.

Holy Family tacked on another run in the fifth and two more in the sixth inning.  Scotto led the sixth inning off with a solo homer to left field for her second long ball of the season.  Later in the inning, Maggi tripled down the right field line to score Favinger for the Tigers final run of the day.

Scotto went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate in game two as she scored three times and drove in two runs.

Orozco (8-7) picked up the win as she went five innings allowing three runs on six hits.  She also struck out five batters.  Junior Amanda Paredes (Moorpark, Calif./Thousand Oaks) and freshman Hannah Miravich (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) each pitched an inning of relief to close out the game.

For Chestnut Hill, Johnson (4-9) received the loss after allowing nine runs (1 earned) off nine hits and a walk.  She finished the game with four strikeouts before freshman Nichole Eberhard entered in relief.  Eberhard was credited with one inning and struck out three while allowing one unearned run.
