Settar Breaks Scoring Record as Tigers Come Up Big on Senior Day



Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior Paige Settar (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) became the program's all-time leading scorer after a seven-point performance as the Holy Family University women's lacrosse team defeated Wilmington University by the score of 24-8 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field on Senior Day. Prior to the game, Holy Family recognized its 2016 senior class in part of Senior Day festivities at Tiger Field.

How It Happened
Wilmington led 4-1 by the 21:09 mark of the first half before the Tigers responded with seven unanswered goals over the next eight minutes.  Senior Nicole Braungart (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) capped the scoring with her first of five goals on the afternoon to give the Tigers an 8-4 lead.
 
The Wildcats answered with back-to-back man-up goals to cut the lead down to 8-6 with less than 10 minutes to play in the half.  However, Holy Family increased its lead to close out the half scoring four of the final five goals to lead 12-7 heading into halftime.  Settar came through with a man-down goal with three seconds showing on the clock before the half expired.
 
In the second half, Holy Family scored nine unanswered goals as the defense held Wilmington scoreless until the 11:27 mark of the half.  The Tigers by that point had a comfortable lead at 21-7. 
 
Inside the Box Score
Holy Family: Settar led all scorers with a game-high seven points on six goals and one assist… She also controlled a game-high nine draws… Braungart finished the game with five goals and five ground balls, while freshman Vanessa Pagliei (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) totaled five points on four goals and one assist… Freshman Dana Trevito (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) led the team with six ground balls while scoring two goals and assisting on three… Junior Kacie Booth (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) caused a pair of turnovers and picked up four ground balls…Booth also scored one goal…. Senior Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) made four saves in net.
 
Wilmington: LaDae Boykin led the Wildcats with four points on the afternoon as the totaled three goals and one assist… Boykin also picked up five ground balls and controlled three draws… Senior Sara LeBrun finished with three goals and three draws.
 
All-Time Leading Scorer
Settar came into the game with 206 career points and when it was all said and done came away as the program's new all-time leading scorer with 213 career points.  Settar broke the previous mark of 211 set by former standout Stephanie McNesby (2010-2013) who finished her career with 154 goals and 57 assists. 
 
Senior Day Festivities
Prior to the game the Tigers recognized their senior class with a pregame on the field ceremony.  The Class of 2016 includes, Braungart, Deckert, Erin Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy), Ashley Magagna (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and Settar.
 
Postseason Bound
Holy Family has officially clinched the fourth seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament.  The Tigers will begin defense of their title on Tuesday, May 3 when quarterfinal play begins.  Holy Family will host fifth-seeded Caldwell University at Tiger Field.

Holy Family will host the above-mentioned Cougars on Tuesday, May 3 in quarterfinal action.  Game time will be announced when the conference officially announces the pairings for this year's tournament.
