How It Happened
Holy Family trailed 4-1 entering the top-half of the sixth inning but by the time the inning was over the Tigers had a 5-4 lead.  Senior Kristine Casey (Newark, Del./Caravel) jump started the rally with a one-out single and then scored after sophomore Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) delivered a run scoring double.  After sophomore Jennifer Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) drew a free base via a walk, junior Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) stepped to the plate and launched a three-run homer to dead-center field to give the Tigers a 5-4 advantage and their first lead of the game.

The Holy Family offense didn't stop there.  The Tigers added three insurance runs in the seventh with run scoring singles by freshman Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash./Shorecrest), Orozco and Trapp.

Walters (15-7) held the Cougars in check the final two innings to secure the victory.  After pitching a complete-game shutout earlier in the day, she came back and pitched another seven-inning complete game to complete the two-game sweep.  Walters allowed four runs on nine hits and struck out a pair of batters.

Orozco went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate for the Tigers while driving in three runs.  Walters went 2-for-4 with three RBI, while sophomore Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) finished 2-of-4 with two runs.

Caldwell opened the scoring in the first inning with run scoring doubles by senior Brielle Reighn and sophomore Marisa Monasseri.  Caldwell tacked on two more runs in the fifth after another run scoring double by Reighn and a sacrifice fly by Monasseri.

Streak Continues
With the two victories on day one of the CACC Tournament, Holy Family extended its season-long winning streak to 15 games.

Record Setting Season
Holy Family picked up its 29th victory of the season with the win over Caldwell.  Earlier in the day the Tigers set a new single season record for most victories in the season in the program's Division II era.  With one more victory the Tigers will reach the 30-win mark for the first time since going 38-14 in 2000.

Next Up
