Game 1: Holy Family 6, Goldey-Beacom 1
Holy Family struck first in the opener as the Tigers scored three runs in the opening frame.  Sophomore Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) drove in the game's first run with a double to center driving in junior Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon).  Following Favinger's hit, freshman Samantha Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) connected on her team-leading seventh home run of the season to give the Tigers a 3-0 advantage.

The runs kept coming in threes as the Tigers added another three runs in the bottom of the third inning.  With runners at first and second and two outs, senior Kristine Casey (Newark, Del./Caravel) stepped to the plate a delivered a three-run shot down the left field line for her second homer of the season.

With a six run cushion, starting pitcher Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) (12-8) secured her 12th win of the season holding the Lightning to just one run in seven innings of work.  Goldey-Beacom scored its lone run in the fourth inning with Kylie Doyle credited with the RBI.

Orozco scattered four hits in her complete-game effort and struck out two batters.

Game 2: Holy Family 8, Goldey-Beacom 0
Holy Family completed the sweep after run-ruling the Lightning in the bottom of the sixth inning after an error by the left fielder led to the final two runs of the game.  The Tigers entered the sixth inning leading 4-0 and went on to score four runs for the walk-off victory.

Holy Family took advantage of two Goldey-Beacom errors in the inning, which led to the four runs.  Klem was credited the only RBI in the inning.  Senior Alexis Maggi (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) ended the game with a fly ball to left field but a dropped ball led to sophomore Jenna Vasquez (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy) and Favinger to score to end the game with an 8-0 victory.

Holy Family scored its first run of the game in the third inning thanks to a run scoring single by Klem who finished the game 1-for-3 with two RBI.  The Tigers tacked on three runs in the fourth after capitalizing on another Goldey-Beacom error.  Scotto highlighted the inning with a two-out two-run home run, her fourth of the year, which at the time gave the Tigers a 4-0 lead.

Junior Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) recorded her fourth shutout of the season and her third in her last three starts.  Walters improves to 10-7 on the year after holding the Lightning scoreless through 5.2 innings.  She allowed four hits and struck out six batters.  Junior Amanda Paredes (Moorpark, Calif./Thousand Oaks) recorded the final out in the top-half of the sixth against the only batter she faced.

Scotto finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI for the Tigers.  Vasquez also scored a pair of runs and went 1-for-4 at the plate.

Playoff Picture
The Tigers have already clinched a spot in next week's conference tournament.  The only question left is where will the Tigers be seeded when play begins.  Currently, Holy Family is fifth in the standings with two conference doubleheaders remaining on the schedule. The Tigers could fall as low as sixth and move up as high as third pending the outcome of other conference match ups the rest of the week.

Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Friday, April 22 as the Tigers host Post University in the team's final home game of the season.  Game one is slated for 1:30 p.m. at Bensalem High School.
