Game 1: Holy Family 3, Bloomfield 1
In the opener, Holy Family saved the best til the very end.  Trailing 1-0 entering the top half of the sixth inning, the Tigers plated three runs to take control of the game.  Junior Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) led the inning off with a double down the left field line and sophomore Jenna Vasquez (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy) followed with a base hit to left field as the Tigers had the potential tying and go-ahead run all on base.

With one swing of the bat, sophomore Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) tied the game and gave the team the lead as she tripled to right center scoring both Scotto and Vasquez.  Two batters later, senior Alexis Maggi (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) singled down the left field line to drive in Favinger as the Tigers took a 3-1 lead.  Maggi reached base in all three of her at-bats going 2-for-2 with a walk.

From there, starting pitcher Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) (9-8) closed out the game to seal the Tigers' come-from-behind victory.  Orozco allowed just one run in a complete-game effort.  She held the Bears to just four hits while striking out two batters.

Bloomfield scored its lone run in the first inning after junior Aubrey Orr scored on a sacrifice fly by junior Faith Apolskis.  Orr led the inning off reaching base off a Holy Family error.

Junior Kirsten Wilson (9-7) received the loss as she allowed three runs in seven innings of work.  Wilson gave up six hits and struck out three batters. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Game 2: Holy Family 4, Bloomfield 0
Holy Family struck first in the nightcap to give junior Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) plenty of support in the pitching circle.  Maggi led the top half of the second off with a walk and would get into scoring position after stealing second before Walters moved her over to third with a single through the left side.

Senior Kristine Casey (Newark, Del./Caravel) then dropped down a sacrifice bunt as Maggi scored to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Holy Family added two more runs in the fourth inning thanks to run scoring singles by both Casey and sophomore Jennifer Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County).  The Tigers final run came in the fifth inning when Favinger scored on a passed ball.  Earlier in the inning, Favinger connected on a two-out double to reach base.

Walters (8-7) scattered five hits in six innings of work to earn her second shutout victory of the season.  She struck out three batters and issued just two walks.  Sophomore Amanda Paredes (Moorpark, Calif./Thousand Oaks) finished the game entering in relief in the seventh.  She allowed one hit in the inning and struck out the final batter of the game.

Casey finished the game 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.  Trapp also picked up a pair of hits for the Tigers as she went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
