Game 1: Holy Family 8, Georgian Court 1
A first inning run was the only blemish on the afternoon for junior Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) (6-7) as she went on to hold Georgian Court scoreless the rest of the game.

Walters went the distance to earn her sixth win of the season.  She scattered five hits throughout seven innings and struck out a season-high eight batters.

Holy Family opened its half of the first inning with four straight hits capped by a three-run double from freshman Samantha Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) to make the score 3-1.  Klem totaled three RBI and went 2-for-4 at the plate.

The Tigers added another run in the third inning before breaking the game open with a four-run fourth inning.  Sophomore Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) highlighted the inning with a three-run home run over the right field fence to give the Tigers an 8-1 advantage.  Favinger finished the game a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate to go along with three RBI and three runs.

Prior to Favingers home run, sophomore Jenna Vasquez (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy) drove in a run with a base hit to left field.  Vasquez went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Game 2: Holy Family 6, Georgian Court 2
A four-run second inning by the Tigers set the tone for game two.  Holy Family scored the inning's first run after a throwing error Georgian Court forced home senior Alexis Maggi (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) who led the inning off with a single.  Two batters later, junior Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) delivered a double down the right field line plating two more runs by the Tigers.  Sophomore Alyssa Cudeyro (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) drove in the final run of the inning as the Tigers took a 4-0 lead after two full frames.

That was more than enough run support for sophomore Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) (4-6) who picked up the win for the Tigers.  She allowed only two runs off six hits in seven innings of work.  Orozco also struck out three batters.

Georgian Court's two runs came off the bat of junior Kelly Hardiman with a two-run homer in the third inning that cut the Tigers' lead down to 4-2.

However, Holy Family erased those two runs with two more scores in the bottom half of the fourth.  Freshman Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash./Shorecrest) came through with a pinch-hit double to right-center field that drove in Scotto who led the inning off with a single.  Nolan would later score on a RBI single by Klem as the Tigers increased their lead to 6-2.

Klem finished game two with a pair of hits, while Scotto went 2-of-3 with one run and two RBI.  Senior Kristine Casey (Newark, Del./Caravel) also had a pair of hits in the game as she went 2-for-3 at the plate with one run.

Streak Snapped
Holy Family snapped a 10-game losing streak to Georgian Court with the two victories this afternoon.  The win marked the Tigers first versus the Lions since the 2011 season when both teams split the regular season doubleheader.  The sweep also marked the first over Georgian Court since the 2007 season.
