Tigers Overpower Golden Falcons, 21-1



Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team put an end to its season-long eight game losing streak after exploding for a season-high 21 goals in a victory over Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match up on Wednesday afternoon at Tiger Field.  The Tigers defeated the Golden Falcons, 21-1.

How We Got Here
Holy Family wasted no time finding the back of the net as the Tigers scored three goals within the first :90 seconds of the game.  Senior Paige Settar (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) opened the scoring with a goal :40 seconds in that turned out to be her 155th career goal moving her into sole possession of second place on the all-time goals list.  She added a second goal a minute later for career goal 156; 10 shy of the program's all-time record currently held by former standout Gina Mansi with 166 goals.
 
Holy Family went on to score 14 first half goals to lead 14-0 at the half.  The Tigers went on to score a season-high 21 goals; fourth most in a single game in program history.  Holy Family attempted a season-high 36 total shots and 30 shots on-goal.  The Tigers also set season marks with 19 draw controls and a season-low 12 turnovers.

Holy Family: Senior Erin Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) tied her career-high with a five goal performance to go along with one assist for six points on the afternoon… Sophomore Rose Bachmayer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) also finished with six points on three goals and three assists… She also picked up a game-high six ground balls…Freshman Dana Trevito (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) scored a season-high four goals, while junior Nicole Mansi (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.) and freshmen Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) and Vanessa Pagliei (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) each tallied two goals…Senior Nicole Braungart (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) tied her career-high with four caused turnovers… She also had five ground balls and controlled five draws…Junior Kacie Booth (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) finished with four ground balls and caused one turnover.
 
Felician: Senior Susie McKeever scored her first collegiate goal as she tallied the Golden Falcons' lone goal of the game off a free-position shot with 1:27 to play in regulation… Freshman Liana Chirichiello led the team with five ground balls…Junior Candice Williams picked up four ground balls… Sophomore Kathleen Britanak made nine saves in net after facing 36 shots.
 
Goals, Goals, Goals
Settar entered the game tied for second on the all-time goals list with former standouts Stephanie McNesby and Brianna Lancetta (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) with a 154 career goals.  With her two scores against the Golden Falcons, Settar took over sole possession of second place and is now 10 goals shy of tying Gina Mansi's record of 166 career goals.
 
Approaching 100 Points                 
With her six points this afternoon, Harmer is now three points shy of 100 for her career.  She currently has 97 career points with 74 goals and 23 assists.  
 
Lock Down Defense
The Holy Family defense set a new program record allowing just one shot by Felician.  The team's previous low came last season when the Tigers held Post University to only six shots.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, April 2 as the Tigers travel to face Georgian Court University in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 11 a.m. in Lakewood, N.J.
