Game 1: West Chester 3, Holy Family 2
In the opener, West Chester junior Micaela McSpadden drove in a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game and take the lead over Holy Family.  It was the Golden Rams first lead of the game.  West Chester took advantage of two wild pitches in the inning that put runners in scoring position after senior Lauren Altenburger and sophomore Madison Kelly reached base with one out in the inning.

Holy Family nearly tied the game in the seventh inning as junior Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) led the inning off with a single up the middle.  Senior Alicia Alvarado (Palmdale, Calif./Paraclete) came in and pinch-ran for Walters advancing to third base after a sacrifice bunt by sophomore Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) and a wild pitch.

However, sophomore reliever Amanda Houck retired the next two batters to pick up her second save of the season as the Golden Rams held on to the one-run lead.

Sophomore Brooke Harner (8-0) picked up her eighth win of the season as she went 6.1 innings.  She allowed two runs (1 earned) on four hits while striking out three.

Junior Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) gave the Tigers an early lead after opening the game with a lead off home run.  West Chester tied the game in its half of the first thanks to a run scoring double by sophomore Kat Hammer.

Holy Family grabbed the lead back in the third when freshman Samantha Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) drove in sophomore Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) with a base hit to right field.  Klem finished the game 2-for-2 with a walk.

Walters (4-5) went the distance for the Tigers, as she was the pitcher of record.  She allowed three runs on six hits and issued three walks.

Game 2: West Chester 2, Holy Family 0
The nightcap featured another pitching duel this time between Holy Family's Orozco and West Chester's Houck.  Orozco held the Golden Rams scoreless through the first 4.2 innings before Kelly drove in the game's first run with a two-out triple to right-center.  McSpadden, who led the inning off with a walk, scored on the play to give the Golden Rams a 1-0 lead.  An error by Holy Family allowed Kelly to score as West Chester doubled its lead entering the sixth inning.

Orozco (3-2) went six innings and allowed just the two runs (1 earned) on three hits.  She also struck out two batters.

As impressive as Orozco was for the Tigers, Houck (9-3) was just as sharp for the Golden Rams.  She held the Tigers to just four hits while striking out seven batters.

Holy Family had a chance to plate a run in its half of the sixth.  With two outs in the inning, sophomore Tori Hernandez (Benton, Ark./Bryant) reached on an error allowing Favinger to advance to third base.  The Tigers had runners on the corners but Houck managed to get out of the jam.

She then retired the Tigers in order in the seventh to preserve the shutout and pick up her ninth win of the season.

Sophomore Jenna Vasquez (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy) finished the game 2-for-3 for the Tigers.
