Second Half Turnaround Lifts Tigers Over Eagles, 75-57



Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University men's basketball team more than doubled its points total in the second half to defeat visiting Post University by the score of 75-57 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon inside the Campus Center Gymnasium.

How We Got Here
It was a tail of two halves for Holy Family.  After scoring just 24 points in the first half on 25.8-percent shooting from the field, the Tigers turned things around in the second half.  With the game tied 31-31 at the 16:21 mark of the half, Holy Family rallied with a 14-2 run to grab its first double-digit lead of the game.
 
Senior Eric Fleming (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) accounted for nine of the team's 14 points all coming from deep range to give the Tigers a 45-33 lead with 12:37 remaining.
 
Holy Family shot an impressive 65.4-percent from the field, including 6-of-11 from deep range in the second half.  The Tigers also committed just two turnovers after turning the ball over nine times in the first half.
 
Holy Family maintained its lead the rest of the way and would go on to lead by as many as 19 points late in the half.  A layup by senior Hunter Wysocki (Howell, N.J./Colts Neck) gave the Tigers a 71-52 advantage with 2:27 to play in regulation.  Wysocki finished the game with nine points on 4-of-6 shooting.

Holy Family: The Tigers outscored the Eagles, 51-32, in the second half on the way to the victory…Senior Marvin Crawford (Edison, N.J./J.P. Stevens) led the team with 11 points in the second stanza as he finished 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals…Redshirt senior Reggie Charles (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) filled the stat sheet with a game-high 16 points and seven assists… He also grabbed four rebounds and recorded a game-high three steals… With his 16 points this afternoon, Charles has now tallied 904 career points as a member of the Tigers… Senior Isaiah Gans (Philadelphia, Pa./Redemption Christian Academy) finished with nine points, while senior Turhan Griffin (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Learning Center) totaled eight points.   
 
Post: Sophomore Tyler Desrosiers led a trio of Eagles that scored in double-figures with 14 points…. Senior David Seymour totaled 12 points and just missed out on a double-double after recording a game-high nine rebounds…. Freshman Tamas Okros recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
 
Unstoppable at Home
Holy Family continues to enjoy playing in front of the Campus Center crowd.  The Tigers have won 15 straight home games dating back to last season and are 9-0 thus far this season.  The team's last home loss was on Jan. 13, 2015 versus the University of the Sciences.  The Devils defeated the Tigers, 72-67 in overtime.
 
Postseason Push
Holy Family currently sits atop the CACC South Division with a 13-1 record and with five games remaining in the regular season have already clinch a postseason berth.  The Tigers lead cross-town rival Philadelphia University (11-2) by one game in the loss column.
 
Next Up
Holy Family will host Georgian Court University in a CACC South Division contest on Tuesday, Feb. 9.  Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
