Griffin and Williams Honored as Sam Cozen Players of the Week

Philadelphia, Pa. - Holy Family University men's basketball senior Turhan Griffin (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Learning Center) and redshirt senior Xavier Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Saul) were recognized as the Sam Cozen Players of the Week by the Philadelphia-Area Small Coaches' Association (PASCCA) on Tuesday afternoon at the bi-weekly luncheon held at the University of the Sciences.

The Sam Cozen Player of the Week award is named in honor of the legendary Drexel University head men's basketball coach, Sam Cozen.

Griffin and Williams are the first players on Holy Family that have been honored since former standouts Khiry Hankins and Ervin Ezell received the recognition back in January 2014.

Holy Family is riding a nine game win streak after defeating Chestnut Hill College last night (73-56). The victory over the Griffins secured the top seed in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament from the South Division. Furthermore, the Tigers claimed the South Division Regular Season title outright; the programs second under fifth-year head coach R.C. Kehoe.

Holy Family (22-4, 16-1 CACC) is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 20 as the Tigers face cross-town rival Philadelphia University in a CACC contest. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
