How It Happened
Both teams combined for 208 points in a game that featured nine ties and 14 different lead changes.  Holy Family held the game's largest lead of 15 points early in the second half.  Southern Connecticut would go on to chip away at the lead and eventually tie the game at 71-71 after Isaiah McLeod drained a three-pointer midway through the second half.

Fast-forward five lead changes and four ties later in about six minutes of action to the 3:08 mark of the half.  Freshman Randy Bell (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) converted a pair of free throws to tie the game at 91-91 for the Tigers.  On the following possession, the Owls grabbed the lead right back and tallied five straight points to take a 96-91 advantage after a three-pointer by Mallory with 2:21 to play.

The Tigers came within one point of tying the game after Bell converted another pair of free throws with less than a minute showing on the clock.  Southern Connecticut countered with free throws on back-to-back possessions to increase the lead back to five points (101-96).  Taurus Adams converted all four attempts with the later two shots coming with :24 seconds remaining.

Holy Family cut the lead down to one possession after a layup by Bell made the score 101-98, but free throws turned out to be the difference maker down the stretch.  The Owls made 25 free throws in the game and only missed on two attempts.  Freshman Maliq Sanders (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) drained a three-pointer in the final seconds to make the score 105-103 but time ran out on the Tigers in their upset bid attempt of the Owls.
