How it Happened
The game's lone goal came in the 61st minute when Nyack's Tauntyonah Guinter tapped in a cross-pass from Camila Parada to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. Holy Family managed only two shots the final 29 minutes despite outshooting Nyack, 20-8, for the game. Both shots were off target as Nyack's goalkeeper Julianna Kranes preserved the shutout. She finished the game with five saves.
Holy Family nearly opened the game with a goal but a shot by junior Shannon Metzler (Erial, N.J./St. Josephs (Hammonton)) in the fourth minute hit off the crossbar. On the ensuing corner kick, Metzler was able to get another shot off inside the box but Kranes managed to make the stop.
