Tigers Fall to Chestnut Hill, 3-0



Lafayette Hill, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's soccer team suffered its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest of the season after being shutout by Chestnut Hill College, 3-0, on Tuesday night at Victory Field #1 on the campus of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

How It Happened
Chestnut Hill scored three second half goals in an eight minute span to break the game wide open.  The Griffins' first goal came in the 66th minute when Kiersten Cobb-Wilkin connected on a free kick from 35-yards out to break a 0-0 deadlock. 

Less than 10 minutes later the Griffins struck again with back-to-back goals in the 74th minute.  Kylee Jazikoff scored at the 73:12 mark and was followed with a goal by Cecilia DuMond at 73:48.

Holy Family: The Tigers recorded a season-high 46 shots with 15 coming on-goal.  Holy Family also held the edge on corner kicks, 8-1, in the game.  Junior Shannon Metzler (Erial, N.J./St. Josephs (Hammonton)) and sophomore Brianna Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) led the team with 10 shots apiece.  Both Metzler and Rock had four of their 10 shots on-goal.

Chestnut Hill: The Griffins attempted only six shots the entire game, including three in each half.  Goalkeeper Meghan Guagenti maded 15 saves in net.  Cobb-Wilkin led the team with three points after scoring a goal and assisting on another.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight's contest marked the 10th meeting all-time between Holy Family and Chestnut Hill dating back to 2007.  The Tigers are now 5-3-2 all-time versus the Griffins.
 
Next Up
Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 8 as the Tigers travel to face Nyack College in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 12 p.m.
