How It Happened
Goldey-Beacom took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute after an own goal before junior Elena Power scored the first of three goals on the afternoon for the Lightning.  Power, who entered the game without a score this season, came through with her first career hat trick.

Her first goal came in the 15th minute and was followed with another score in the 25th minute to increase the Goldey-Beacom lead to three midway through the half. The Lightning took a 3-0 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, Holy Family opened the scoring with its first goal of the game to cut the Lightning lead down to 3-1.  Redshirt sophomore Stefanie Ulmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Delaware Valley HS Center City) scored her fifth goal of the season after receiving a pass from sophomore Brianna Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) in the 51st minute.

However, minutes later Power struck for the third time to give the Lightning a 4-1 advantage in the 55th minute.

The score remained that way until the 77th minute when Rock tallied her team-leading 11th goal of the season.  Senior Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS) was credited with the assist on the goal.

Five minutes later the Tigers struck again to come within one goal from tying the game.  Junior Taylor Adair (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored her first career goal after launching a shot from the far right side from about 25-30 yards out.  The ball headed towards the net and sailed over the head of the Goldey-Beacom keeper to make the score 4-3 with less than 10 minutes to play in regulation.

Holy Family had a couple of opportunities to tie the game in the final minutes but the shots didn't fall the Tigers way as Goldey-Beacom held on to the one goal victory.
