Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Tigers Offense Overwhelms Bloomfield, 7-3

Bloomfield, N.J. - Senior Lisa Abramski (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) and red-shirt freshman Stefanie Ulmer (Philadelphia, Pa.) each scored two goals as the Holy Family University women's soccer team defeated Bloomfield College by the score of 7-3 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday morning at Foley Field.

Holy Family improves to 5-2-0 overall and remains undefeated in conference play with a 4-0-0 record.  Bloomfield is now 3-4-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the CACC.

In the 19th meeting all-time between the two schools, Holy Family remained perfect versus the Bears improving to 19-0-0 in the all-time series.

What was at one point a close affair turned into a one-sided game when the Holy Family offense exploded for four unanswered second-half goals.  Holy Family led 3-2 at the half before Bloomfield opened the second half with a game tying score by Lisa Parello in the opening minute.

It marked Parello's second goal of the game with her first coming in the 32nd minute.

The score didn't remain tied for long as Abramski connected on her first goal of the season and of the game minutes later to give the Tigers a 4-3 advantage.  Abramski's goal turned out to be the game-winner as it jump-started an offensive surge for the Tigers.

Ulmer followed with her second goal of the game and third of the season in the 57th minute as she redirected the ball off a corner kick into the back of the net to make the sure 5-3.  Ulmer also scored in the first half in the 11th minute.

As the second half progressed, Abramski came through with her second score of the day after her shot ricocheted off the left goal post into the goal.  Her second goal in the 73rd minute gave the Tigers a 6-3 lead.

Senior Nicole Wright (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) capped the scoring for the Tigers with her first goal of the season in the 86th minute.  Wright's chip shot went over the goalie into the back of the net for the team's seventh and final goal of the game.

Holy Family also received first half goals from juniors Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) in the 24th minute and Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS) in the 27th minute. Junior goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) finished the game with six saves for the Tigers.

Holy Family outshot Bloomfield 19-11 for the game and also held a 6-3 edge on corner kicks. The seven goals scored marked a season-high for the Tigers and the most goals scored since last season when Holy Family defeated Bloomfield at home, 7-0.

Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 29 as the Tigers host Georgian Court University in a rematch of last year's CACC quarterfinal match up.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Tiger Field.
