Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Shutout by Bloomfield, 2-0




Bloomfield, N.J. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at Bloomfield College by the score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Foley Field.
 
Holy Family is now 0-7-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the CACC, while Bloomfield improves to 4-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference action.
 
Bloomfield tallied a pair of first half goals, one early and one late, to hold off the Tigers.  The Bears first goal came in the 16th minute when Paulo Claudio connected on a shot from inside six yards for his ninth goal of the season.
 
Bloomfield went on to double its lead in the closing minute of the half when Shacquille Brown found the back of the net from inside six yards.  Brown's second goal of the season gave the Bears a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
 
Bloomfield outshot Holy Family, 13-2, in the first half and went on to finish the game with 24 total shots. 
 
Senior goalkeeper Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) tied his career-high with ten saves in net for the Tigers.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Monday, Sept. 28 as the Tigers host Nyack College in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Tiger Field.
