Tigers Fall to Bloomsburg, 2-0



Bloomsburg, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's soccer team dropped a non-conference game at Bloomsburg University by the score of 2-0 on Wednesday evening at Steph Pettit Stadium.
 
Holy Family is now 4-2-0 overall, while Bloomsburg improves to 4-3-0 this season.
 
Bloomsburg set the tone with an early score in the opening minutes by Ashley Sanchez.  Jenna Fisher took an initial shot that hit off the post, but Sanchez collected the rebounded the ball and found the back of the net for her fifth goal of the season.
 
The Huskies went on to double their lead later in the half when Allie Barber tallied her fifth goal of the season in the 27th minute to make the score 2-0.
 
The Bloomsburg defense held the Tigers to just four shots in the game, two in each half.  The Huskies tallied 19 shots throughout the game, including 13 in the first half.
 
Junior goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) made nine saves in net for the Tigers.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 26 as the Tigers travel to face Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.  Game time is slated for 11 a.m.
