Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Fall to Wilmington, 1-0

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to Wilmington University by the score of 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Holy Family is now 0-6-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the CACC, while Wilmington improves to 5-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 in conference action.

A penalty kick score in the 87th minute by Wilmington senior Lance Berry was the difference in the game as neither team was able to find the back of the net prior.  The Wildcats received a penalty kick attempt after a Holy Family foul inside the box.  Berry went on to convert the kick for his sixth goal of the season.

Early in the game, Holy Family nearly took the game's first lead after a shot by senior James Annobil (Northwales, Pa. (London)/Wissahickon/Manor) hit off the bottom goal post in the 16th minute.  Later in the second half, Annobil almost scored again to break the 0-0 tie but his shot hit off the cross bar and over the net in the 65th minute.

Senior goalkeeper Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) kept the Wilmington offense in check as he finished the game with a season-high seven saves.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 26 as the Tigers travel to face Bloomfield College in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 1:30 p.m.
