Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Tigers Shutout Molloy, 2-0

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's soccer team continues to roll as the Tigers defeated visiting Molloy College by the score of 2-0 in a non-conference contest on Monday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Holy Family, winners of three straight games, improves to 4-1-0 overall, while Molloy is now 1-3-2 overall.

Two first half goals by the Tigers were the difference in the game.  Holy Family scored the game's first goal in the 24th minute when junior Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) connected off a pass from senior Jenna Richards (Croydon, Pa./Conwell Egan).  Coyle's third goal in as many games found the back of the net towards the lower right side to give the Tigers a 1-0 advantage.

Holy Family doubled its lead later in the half off a corner kick attempt.  Freshman Brianna Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) launched the ball from the far right side and as the ball entered the box hit off the upper left post into the back of the net for the score.  Rock's second goal of the season came in the 37th minute.

The score remained 2-0 the rest of the way as the Tigers shutout their second opponent in a row.

Junior goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) made five saves in net as she recorded her third shutout of the season and 14th of her career.

Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23 as the Tigers travel to face Bloomsburg University in a non-conference contest.  Game time is slated for 6:30 p.m.
