Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Tigers Edge Clippers in Conference Tilt

Philadelphia, Pa. - Junior Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) scored the game's only goal as the Holy Family University women's soccer team held off visiting Concordia College by the score of 1-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.

With the win, Holy Family remains undefeated in conference play with a 3-0-0 record and the Tigers improve to 3-1-0 overall.  Concordia is now 0-4-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the CACC.

Coyle's second goal in as many games turned out to be the difference as she came through with the game-winning score in the 75th minute.  Coyle received a pass from junior Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS) and connected on a shot from the left side of the box to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Holy Family pressured the Concordia defense, including senior goalkeeper Samantha Street who came up big for the Clippers making 12 saves in net.  The Tigers attempted 13 shots in the first half and launched 11 shots in the second half.

The Tigers' defense limited Concordia to nine shots the entire game, including only two the entire first half.

Junior goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) made four saves in net for the Tigers to record her second shutout of the season and 13th of her career moving her into fourth place for most in program history.

Holy Family also held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-1.

Holy Family is back in action on Monday, Sept. 21 as the Tigers host Molloy College in a non-conference contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Tiger Field.
