Waterbury, Conn. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team is the first to clinch a berth into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament later this month after defeating Post University, 14-3, on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

Holy Family, winners of seven straight games, improves to 9-3 overall and remains perfect at 5-0 in the CACC. With the conference victory over the Eagles, the Tigers have clinched a spot in their sixth straight CACC Tournament. With three conference games remaining on the schedule, Holy Family will now look to lock up the top seed and possible regular season title. The Tigers currently hold a one game lead over Philadelphia in the standings. Both teams will face each other next week.Â

Post is now 0-11 overall and 0-6 in conference play.

Holy Family made quick work of Post as the Tigers scored the game's first nine goals. Senior
Christina Bonomo (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) tied her season-high with a four-goal performance. She also picked up three ground balls and caused one turnover. Junior
Erin Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) tallied three goals and one assist for four points to go along with five ground balls.

Senior
Brianna Lancetta (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) and junior
Paige Settar (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) each scored two goals. Lancetta also dished out an assist and controlled three draws. Settar picked up three ground balls and caused a turnover.Â

Defensively, seniors
Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Sarah Kelly (Washington Twp., N.J./Washington Twp.) led the team with a game-high six ground balls each. Kisselback also caused two turnovers, while Kelly controlled a game-high five draws.

For Post, senior Miranda Polaski scored all three goals for the Eagles. Polaski also led the team with five ground balls and controlled three draws.Â

After Holy Family scored nine unanswered goals to start the game, the Eagles ended the Tigers scoring surge when Polaski scored the first of her three goals at the 12:36 mark. Holy Family responded with three straight goals to lead 12-1 with three minutes to play in the half.  The Tigers went into halftime with a 12-2 advantage.

Holy Family outshot the Eagles, 23-2 in the first half, and went on to hold a 36-6 advantage for the game. Junior goalkeeper
Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) allowed two goals and made two saves in net.Â

The Tigers finished the game controlling 14 of the game's 18 draws and held a 41-17 advantage on ground balls setting a season-high.

Holy Family finished the game with two goals in the second half, while Post tallied just one score.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, April 11 as the Tigers host Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest. Game time is slated for 12 p.m. at Tiger Field.
