Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team extended its season long winning streak to eight games after defeating visiting Chestnut Hill College by the score of 17-8 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Holy Family improves to 10-3 overall and 6-0 in the CACC, while Chestnut Hill falls to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in conference action.
Senior
Christina Bonomo (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) had a career day as she tied the program's single game record for most points in a game with nine. Bonomo finished with a career-high six goals to go along with three assists. Former standout Gina Mansi (2009-2012) and junior
Paige Settar (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) also have totaled nine points in a single game. Settar did so earlier this season with a 7-goal/2-assist performance versus Georgian Court University.
Settar finished the afternoon with three points (2G/1A) to go along with three ground balls and three draw controls. Junior
Nicole Braungart (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) totaled four goals and led the team with a career-high seven ground balls. She also caused two turnovers and controlled two draws. Braungart now has 30 goals on the year setting a new career-high.
Senior
Brianna Lancetta (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) netted three goals and picked up four ground balls, while junior
Erin Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) finished with two goals and two assists for four points.

Sarah Kelly (Washington Twp., N.J./Washington Twp.) finished with five ground balls and controlled a team-high four draws. Senior
Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) caused a pair of turnovers as she now has 16 on the season and in the process has tied the program's all-time mark with 48 career caused turnovers. She is tied with former CACC Player of the Year, Stephanie McNesby (2010-2013) for most all-time.
Also for the Tigers, sophomore
Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) intercepted three passes on the afternoon to record a career-high three caused turnovers.
For Chestnut Hill, sophomore Jacklyn O'Leary led the Griffins with a team-high four goals. Sophomore Lea Sanders led the team with five ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers. Sanders also scored a goal and controlled three draws.
Holy Family scored the game's first goal less than two minutes into the game when Braungart connected on her first of four scores on the afternoon. Chestnut Hill responded with back-to-back scores to take a 2-1 lead by the 24:56 mark.
However, the Tigers defense held the Griffins scoreless the rest of the half as the offense went on a 7-0 run over the next 23-plus minutes. Settar capped the scoring with a goal in the final seconds of the half to give the Tigers an 8-2 halftime advantage.
Holy Family was in control most of the game, especially in the first half as the Tigers outshot the Griffins, 24-5, and held a 20-9 advantage on ground balls in the half. The Holy Family defense forced 18 turnovers in the first half as the Griffins finished the game with 28 miscues.
The Tigers closed out the game holding the edge on shots (46-17), ground balls (34-17), draw controls (14-13) and turnovers (13-28).
Chestnut Hill came as close as four goals of the Tigers' lead after opening the second half with back-to-back goals by O'Leary to make the score 8-4. Holy Family responded with three straight scores in a three-minute span to jump the lead to 11-4 at the 24:01 mark.
Holy Family would go on to lead by as many as eight goals after Harmer tallied a score with 5:37 left in regulation to give the Tigers a 15-7 lead.
Junior
Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) picked up her tenth victory of the season in net for the Tigers after making five saves.
Chestnut Hill goalkeeper, sophomore Katie Joe Lang, made a season-high 17 saves in net after facing 46 total shots by the Tigers.
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, April 14 as the Tigers host cross-town rival Philadelphia University in a key CACC contest. Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Tiger Field.
