Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team claimed the 2015 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Regular Season Title and secured the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament after defeating cross-town rival Philadelphia University by the score of 20-10 on Tuesday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Prior to the game, Holy Family recognized its five seniors in a pre-game ceremony. This year's senior class includes,
Christina Bonomo (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata),
Caitlin Carrezola (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy),
Sarah Kelly (Washington Twp., N.J./Washington Twp.),
Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Brianna Lancetta (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace).

Holy Family, winners of nine straight games, improves to 11-3 overall and 7-0 in the CACC. With the victory the Tigers will earn a first round bye in the CACC Tournament and automatically advance to the semifinal round. It also marks the program's second regular season title and first since 2012.Â

Junior
Paige Settar (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) tied her career-high with her second seven-goal performance of the season. She also dished out two assists to finish with nine points tying the program's single game record for points in a game. Settar also controlled a game-high six draws.

Defensively, Kisselback recorded a game-high three caused turnovers to become the program's all-time leader. She entered the game with 48 and now holds the new standard with 51 career caused turnovers. Kisselback also picked up a game-high five ground balls.

Junior
Erin Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) finished with five points after scoring four goals and assisting on another. Lancetta also recorded four goals to go along with four draws, while Bonomo tallied two goals and three assists.

For Philadelphia, freshmen Kathryn Avanzato and Corrine Etter each scored three goals apiece to lead the Rams' offense. Etter also dished out two assists to finish with a team-high five points. Sophomore Isabella DiGnazio recorded four ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Holy Family opened the scoring with a goal in the first minute of action by Settar and then doubled its lead minutes later by Lancetta. Etter tacked on the Rams' first goal about :30 seconds after Lancetta's score to make it 2-1.Â

From there, the Tigers turned it into a one sided affair scoring six straight goals and 11 of the game's next 12 scores to lead 13-2 by the 3:25 mark. Philadelphia capped the scoring in the half with a goal in the final minute as Holy Family led 13-3 entering halftime.

Holy Family outshot Philadelphia, 22-8, in the first half and held a 37-18 advantage for the game. The Tigers' defense also forced 13 first half turnovers and picked up 13 ground balls.Â

For the game, Philadelphia committed 22 turnovers compared to only 12 by Holy Family. The Tigers also held the edge in draws (19-13) and ground balls (24-20).Â

Junior goalkeeper
Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) made four saves in net for the Tigers after facing only 18 shots.Â

In the second half the Rams made a run to put pressure on the Tigers scoring the first three goals of the half to cut into the lead, 13-6.Â

Philadelphia came as close as six goals of the Tigers' lead midway through the half when a goal by freshman Samantha Ryder made the score 15-9. However, the deficit was too much to overcome as the Tigers went on to close the game out scoring five of the six final goals in the final 12:53.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, April 18 as the Tigers travel to face Dominican College in a CACC contest to close out the regular season. Game time is slated for 12 p.m.
