Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Fall to Post in CACC Action

Waterbury, Conn. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to Post University by the score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

Holy Family is now 2-8-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the CACC, while Post improves to 5-4-0 overall and 3-2-0 in conference action.

Post struck first in this one when Stefan Tomasevic scored his third goal of the season with a shot from inside the box.  Tomasevic's goal in the 13th minute gave the Eagles an early 1-0 advantage.

However, the lead would be short lived as the Tigers came storming back with a goal of their own.  In the 15th minute, junior Christopher Tracey (Abington, Pa./Abington) came through with his second goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1.  With the goal, it marked Tracey's third straight game with at least one point.

Later in the half, Post regained the lead when Raphael Moura scored his first goal of the season in the 43rd minute.  The Eagles grabbed the 2-1 lead heading into halftime.

In the second half the score remained the same until the 86th minute when the Eagles added an insurance goal.  Tiago Martins scored after receiving a pass from Moura to make the score 3-1.

Junior Dylan Rutledge (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) made his first career start in net for the Tigers and went on to make six saves after facing 23 shots.

Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 6 as the Tigers travel to face cross-town rival Philadelphia University in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
