Tigers and Griffins End in 1-1 Draw

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's soccer team finished in a 1-1 draw with visiting Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Wednesday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Holy Family is now 10-4-1 overall and 8-1-1 in the CACC, while Chestnut Hill is now 4-7-2 overall and 2-6-2 in conference play.

Chestnut Hill scored the game's first goal in the 29th minute of action.  Danielle Spinuzza launched a shot from just outside the box on a free kick that hit off a Holy Family defender.  Spinuzza's shot was redirected and found its way into the back of the net for her third goal of the season.

Holy Family would go on to eventually tie the game in the second half.  Junior Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS) fired a shot on goal but Chestnut Hill goalkeeper, Kayla Reno, made the stop.  Senior Lisa Abramski (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) quickly collected the rebounded ball and had a clear shot of the goal as she tallied her fourth goal of the season to tie the game, 1-1, in the 61st minute.

Reno finished the game with ten saves as the Holy Family offense kept her busy in net.  The Tigers recorded 28 shots in the game, including a combined six in the two overtime periods.

Junior goalkeeper Kacie Booth (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) recorded one save in net as Chestnut Hill managed just eight shots in 110 minutes.

Holy Family held the edge on corner kicks by an 11-2 margin.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 24 as the Tigers travel to face Caldwell University in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 11:30 a.m.
