Tigers Blank Felician on Senior Day



Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team scored a season-high four goals as the Tigers blanked Felician College by the score of 4-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.
 
Holy Family improves to 3-11-1 overall and 3-6-0 in the CACC, while Felician falls to 2-12-0 overall and 1-9-0 in conference action. 
 
Prior to the game Holy Family recognized its seniors in part of Senior Day Festivities.  This year's senior class includes, Christian Cepeda (Philadelphia, Pa. (Argentina)/Abington Friends), Tom Kostick (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic), Aiah Mbriwa (Abington, Pa./Philmont Christian Academy), Ian Hower (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Schuylkill Haven), James Annobil (Northwales, Pa. (London)/Wissahickon/Manor), Adam Marianelli (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Schuylkill Haven), Kevin McCollick (Washington Twp., N.J./Washington Twp.), Szymon Zegar (Philadelphia, Pa./Central), Kevin Pohl (Trevose, Pa./Father Judge) and Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU)
 
The Tigers opened the scoring in the ninth minute when McCollick tallied his third goal of the season.  Juniors Justin Hiltwine (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) and Christopher Tracey (Abington, Pa./Abington) assisted on the play to set up McCollick's score to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
 
Minutes later the Tigers struck again when Hiltwine tallied a goal of his own for his second score of the season.  McCollick sent a cross-pass into the box as Hiltwine converted a shot to double the team's lead in the 12th minute.
 
The score remained 2-0 through the rest of the half and into halftime.  The Tigers went on to score their third goal of the game early in the second half.  Junior Joseph Steward (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) headed the ball into the back of the net off a corner kick attempt by Hiltwine.  It marked Steward's first career goal coming in the 49th minute. Hiltwine finished the game with one goal and two assists.
 
The Tigers capped the scoring in the 89th minute when freshman Matthew Tracey (Abington, Pa./Abington) tallied his first collegiate goal to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead. 
 
Ongaro finished the game with three saves after facing only six shots by Felician as he recorded his first shutout of the season.  The shutout marked the eighth of Ongaro's career.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 20 as the Tigers host Chestnut Hill College in the team's final regular season home contest.  Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m. at Tiger Field.
