Coyle, Wright Lead Tigers Past Dominican, 5-0

Orangeburg, N.Y. - Senior Nicole Wright (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) and junior Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) each scored a pair of goals as the Holy Family University women's soccer team defeated Dominican College, 5-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

Holy Family improves to 7-4-0 overall and 6-1-0 in the CACC, while Dominican falls to 0-9-0 overall and 0-7-0 in conference action.

Holy Family overpowered Dominican in the first half as the Tigers launched 12 shots and came away with three first half scores. Coyle tallied her first of two goals in the 29th minute converting on a corner kick attempt led by senior Jenna Richards (Croydon, Pa./Conwell Egan)

The Tigers doubled their lead in the 43rd minute when Coyle struck again with her team-leading seventh goal of the season.  She connected on a shot from eight-yards out to give the Tigers a 2-0 advantage.

Holy Family didn't stop there with the scoring.  In the final seconds of the half, senior Jenna DeVice (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) tallied her first collegiate goal after receiving a cross pass from freshman Alyssa Christiansen (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent).  DeVice's score gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead entering halftime. The assist marked Christiansen's first career point.

In the second half, Wright tallied the first of her two goals early in the half to increase the Tigers' lead to 4-0.  In the 52nd minute Wright connected on a chip shot from 30-yards and followed with another score later in the half to record her first career multi-goal game.

Wright capped the scoring in the 70th minute with her third goal of the season as sophomore Taylor Adair (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) assisted on the play.

The Holy Family defense limited Dominican to five shots the entire as junior goalkeeper Kacie Booth (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) recorded her first shutout of the season and third of her career.  Booth finished the game with four saves.

Holy Family is back in action on Thursday, Oct. 15 as the Tigers host Queens College in a non-conference contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Tiger Field.
