Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Edged by Dominican, 2-1

Orangeburg, N.Y. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at Dominican College by the score of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

Holy Family is now 2-10-0 overall and 2-6-0 in the CACC, while Dominican improves to 3-8-0 overall and 3-4-0 in conference action.

Holy Family struck first in this one scoring in the eighth minute of action to take an early 1-0 lead.  Junior Christopher Tracey (Abington, Pa./Abington) scored his team-leading third goal of the season after receiving a pass from senior Aiah Mbriwa (Abington, Pa./Philmont Christian Academy).  The assist marked Mbriwa's team-leading third of the season.

Dominican would eventually tie the game later in the half.  A goal by Andres Colombo in the 25th minute made the score 1-1.  The Chargers followed with another score ten minutes later when Hallvard Kuloey tallied a goal in the 35th minute to give Dominican a 2-1 advantage.

In the second half, the Tigers nearly tied the game on two occasions late in the half.  In the 81st minute, C. Tracey launched a shot that was saved by Dominican goalkeeper, Steven Hegner.  Minutes later, Hegner came through with another key save off a shot by junior Justin Hiltwine (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) in the 88th minute to preserve the win.

Senior goalkeeper Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) finished the game with seven saves for the Tigers after facing 12 shots by Dominican.

Holy Family returns to action on Monday, Oct. 12 as the Tigers host Dowling College in a non-conference contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Tiger Field.
