Millersville, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team concluded day two of the Marauder Clash hosted by Millersville University with a pair of non-conference defeats on Saturday at the Pucillo Gymnasium.
Holy Family began the day falling to host Millersville in three sets (14-25, 14-25, 18-25) and then came up short against Shippensburg by the score of 3-1 (16-25, 25-23, 16-25, 17-25) to cap the tournament.
Against Millersville, freshman
Melanie Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) led the attack with seven kills, while sophomore
Katelyn Scherber (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) and junior
Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) each totaled six kills apiece.
Melanie Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) also led the team with 11 defensive digs.
Senior
Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) paced the offense with 23 set assists to go along with six digs. Junior
Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) added five kills and eight digs for the Tigers.
Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 10 as the Tigers host cross-town rival Philadelphia University in the team's home opener. Match time is slated for 7 p.m. at the Campus Center.
