Kisselback’s Goal in 27th Minute Lifts Tigers Past NYIT

BOX SCORE

Old Westbury, N.Y. - Senior Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) scored the game's lone goal in the 27th minute as the Holy Family University women's soccer team defeated New York Tech by the score of 1-0 in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon at President's Stadium.

Holy Family is now 1-1-0 overall this season, while New York Tech falls to 0-2-0.

Kisselback's first goal of the season came midway through the first half as she beat New York Tech goalkeeper Vanessa Cordoba to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.  The score also marked Kisselback's tenth career goal.

The score remained 1-0 the rest of the way as the Tigers avenged last year's defeat by the Bears to pick up their first win of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) made seven saves in net for the Tigers, including one key save in the final minute of action.  New York Tech's Dina Simonian managed to get off a shot with :26 seconds remaining in regulation, but Smith made the stop to preserve the victory and shutout.  It marked Smith's eighth career complete shutout.

Holy Family outshot the Bears, 20-15, for the game.

Holy Family is back in action on Sunday, Sept. 7 as the Tigers host nationally ranked No. 6 the College of Saint Rose in a non-conference contest.  Game time is slated for 12 p.m. at Tiger Field.
