Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Defeat Millersville, 3-1

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team won its second straight game after defeating visiting Millersville University by the score of 3-1 in a non-conference contest on Monday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Holy Family is now 3-4-3 overall after the victory, while Millersville falls to 2-6-1 overall this season.

Holy Family struck first in this game as the Tigers gained the first advantage early in the first half.  Freshman Mariano Cepeda (Philadelphia, Pa. (Argentina)/Roman Catholic) scored his first collegiate goal when he tapped in a cross pass by sophomore Christopher Tracey (Abington, Pa./Abington) to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute.

As the half progressed, Millersville eventually tied the game at 1-1 when sophomore Christopher Sosa beat Holy Family junior goalkeeper Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) for his second score of the season.  Sosa's goal came in the 35th minute.  Ongaro faced 12 shots by the Marauders and finished the game with five saves.

The game wouldn't be tied for long as Holy Family responded when Tracey came through with a goal of his own in the 40th minute.  Tracey controlled a head ball by senior Alex Bilay (Philadelphia, Pa. (Ukraine)/Central) and found the back of the net for his second goal of the season to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.

The score remained that way through halftime and into the second half.  The Tigers tacked on an insurance goal in the 59th minute when junior James Annobil (Northwales, Pa. (London)/Wissahickon) stole the ball from the Millersville keeper, Kohl Orner, as he came out of the net to control the ball.  Annobil was able to control the ball and found the wide open net for his second goal of the season.

Orner played the second half for the Marauders and made one save, while freshman David Brubaker started the game in net.  Brubaker finished with two saves.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 4 as the Tigers return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action at Felician College.  Game time is slated for 8 p.m.
