Kisselback’s 1st Half Goal Lifts Tigers to 1-0 Victory

Lakewood, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's soccer team only needed one goal to defeat Georgian Court University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Tuesday afternoon.

Holy Family improves to 5-3-0 overall and 4-1-0 in the CACC, while Georgian Court is now 4-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play.

Senior Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) supplied the Tigers with all the offense they would need on the afternoon.  After a Georgian Court foul inside the box resulted in a Holy Family penalty kick, Kisselback went on to convert the kick to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute.

The score marked Kisselback's fifth of the season, setting a new career-high. She scored four goals back in 2011 as a freshman.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kacie Booth (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) turned away six shots in net for the Tigers to record her second straight shutout.  Booth faced 14 total shots by the Lions through out the game with the final shot attempt coming in the 68th minute.

The Tigers nearly added another score in the 70th minute, but a shot by sophomore Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS) hit off the crossbar.  Holy Family finished the game with 12 shots.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 27 as the Tigers host Post University in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 12 p.m. at Tiger Field.  The game also represents Alumni Day for the men's and women's soccer teams.  An alumni game will be played at Nazareth Academy Soccer Field at 11 a.m.
