Shackleford Records Hat-Trick as Tigers Defeat Bloomfield, 7-0




Philadelphia, Pa. - Sophomore Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS) scored a career-high three goals as the Holy Family University defeated visiting Bloomfield College by the score of 7-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.
 
Holy Family improves to 4-3-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the CACC, while Bloomfield is now 0-5-0 overall and 0-4-0 in conference action.
 
The Holy Family offense exploded for a season-high seven goals; the most scoring output since the team scored nine goals back on Sept. 29, 2011 versus Concordia College.
 
The Tigers opened the game with three goals within the first 8:42 minutes of the game.  Senior Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) opened the scoring in the 3rd minute of the game connecting on a cross pass from sophomore Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower). 
 
Minutes later, the Tigers struck again when sophomore Samantha O'Donnell (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) scored her first career goal.  O'Donnell received a pass from freshman Shannon Metzler (Erial, N.J./St. Josephs (Hammonton)) after gathering a loose ball inside the box.
 
In the ninth minute, Shackleford scored her first of three straight goals.  Shackleford capped the team's scoring in the first half with a goal in the 17th minute.
 
In the second half, Holy Family received goals from Shackleford (51st), Metzler (66th) and Kisselback (71st) to wrap up the scoring. 
 
Shackleford led the offense with six points (3G), while Kisselback finished with five points after scoring two goals and assisting on another.  Coyle finished the afternoon with a team-high three assists and Metzler totaled four points with a goal and two assists. 
 
In addition, senior MaryKate Morris (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Hubert's) tallied a pair of assists, while senior Erin Blaney (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) recorded her first point of the season with an assist on the game's final score.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Kacie Booth (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) earned the shutout victory as she made three saves in net for the Tigers.  Bloomfield's keeper Diana Vincentini made four saves.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 23 as the Tigers travel to Georgian Court University for a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
