Tigers Drop Conference Match at Georgian Court, 3-1



Lakewood, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at Georgian Court University by the score of 3-1 on Friday night at the GCU Wellness Center.  The Lions won the match by the scores of 25-16, 21-25, 26-24, 25-11.
 
Holy Family is now 11-13 overall and 9-4 in the CACC, while Georgian Court improves to 14-12 overall and 10-3 in conference action.  The Lions are currently tied for first place in the CACC South Division with Wilmington University.  The Wildcats are also 10-3 in the CACC.  The Tigers are currently second trailing both teams by one game in the standings.
 
Junior Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) led Holy Family with eight kills as she recorded a team-high .263 attack percentage.  She also totaled three block assists on defense.  Freshman Melanie Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) totaled six kills and 12 digs, while sophomore Laura Tamas (Rhode-St-Genese, Belgium) finished with four kills and 12 digs. 
 
Junior Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) tallied five kills and ten digs, while redshirt sophomore Erin Miller (Chandler, Ariz. /Corona del sol) added five kills to go along with two block assists on defense.  Sophomore Katelyn Scherber (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) totaled four kills and three total blocks (1BS/2BA).  Senior Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) finished the match with 24 set assists and nine digs.
 
For Georgian Court, senior Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez led the match with 13 kills, while fellow classmate Anabelle Barinas and sophomore Jennifer Smith each added ten kills apiece.  Sophomore Kelsey Oliver recorded a match-high 33 set assists to go along with 11 digs.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 25 as the Tigers host Dominican College in a CACC contest.  Match time is slated for 4:30 p.m. at the Campus Center Gymnasium.
