Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Edged by Caldwell, 3-2

Caldwell, N.J. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest by the score of 3-2 at Caldwell University on Saturday afternoon at the CU Athletics Field.

Holy Family is now 5-6-4 overall and 2-5-3 in the CACC, while Caldwell improves to 8-5-0 overall and 5-4-0 in conference action.

Caldwell broke a 2-2 tie after the Tigers rallied from two goals down to tie the game.  In the 90th minute, Steve Petrosino received a pass from Cole Downs and connected off a shot from 18-yards to give the Cougars a 3-2 lead and eventual victory.

The Tigers found themselves down 2-0 after the first half.  Caldwell scored a pair of goals in the second and the 26th minutes from Kyle Felton and Christian Castro.

However, the Tigers responded with a pair of scores in the second half.  Junior Tom Kostick (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) scored the team's first goal as he converted this third penalty kick of the season to remain a perfect 3-for-3 on the season.  Kostick's goal came in the 62nd minute.

In the 82nd minute, Holy Family tied the game at 2-2 when junior Aiah Mbriwa (Abington, Pa./Philmont Christian Academy) knocked in a rebounded shot by junior James Annobil (Northwales, Pa. (London)/Wissahickon) for his team leading fourth goal of the season.  Annobil's shot hit off the post as Mbriwa collected the rebounded ball for a shot on net.

Junior Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) made four saves in net for the Tigers after facing ten shots by the Cougars.  Holy Family recorded a season-high 20 shots and had the advantage on corner kicks, 6-2.

Caldwell goalkeeper Michael Hartmann made five saves.

Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 21 as the Tigers travel to face St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference contest.  Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
