Tigers Fall to West Chester, 3-0



West Chester, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference contest at West Chester University by the score of 3-0 on Tuesday night at the Hollinger Field House.  The Golden Rams won the match by the scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-15.
 
Holy Family is now 9-11 overall, while West Chester improves to 13-10 overall.
 
Junior Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) led the Tigers with 13 kills as she registered double-digit kills for the seventh straight match.  She also recorded seven digs on defense.  Freshman Melanie Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) came away with double-digit kills as she finished the match with 12 to go along with ten digs.
 
Sophomore Laura Tamas (Rhode-St-Genese, Belgium) led the team with 12 digs, while senior Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) totaled 34 set assists and 11 digs.  Junior Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) added five kills and four digs for the Tigers.
 
For West Chester, senior Julia O'Brien led the team with 11 kills and six block assist.  Freshman Lyndsey Iacobelli finished with a match-high 21 digs, junior Marina Sharkey added eight kills. 
 
Holy Family returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Friday, Oct. 17 as the Tigers host the University of the Sciences.  Match time is slated for 7 p.m. inside the Campus Center Gymnasium.
