Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Kisselback’s Goal in 18th Minute Carries Tigers to 1-0 Victory

Nyack, N.Y. - Senior Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) scored the game's lone goal in the 18th minute as the Holy Family University women's soccer team came away with a 1-0 victory at Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Moseley Field.

Holy Family improves to 7-4-0 overall and 6-2-0 in the CACC, while Nyack falls to 2-11-0 overall and 1-6-0 in conference action.  The win pushes Holy Family to 18 points in the CACC standings for third place as the Tigers trail only Philadelphia University (7-1-0) and Post University (7-2-0) for the top spot.

Kisselback gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead early in the first half with her team-leading seventh goal of the season.  She shares the team lead in goals scored this season with sophomore Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS)

The one score was more than enough for the Tigers as the defense and sophomore goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) limited the Nyack offense to only ten shots the entire game.  Smith, making her first start in almost a month, made three saves in net to record her second shutout of the season.

Holy Family held a slight edge on shots by a 13-10 margin, and had full control on corner kicks with a season-high eight.  Nyack did not have a single corner kick throughout the game.

Nyack's senior goalkeeper Madeline Barbarino made eight saves in net.

Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 15 as the Tigers travel to face Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
