Tigers Shutout Bloomfield, 3-0

BOX SCORE

Bloomfield, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's soccer team scored three first half goals on its way to a 3-0 victory at Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Foley Field.

Holy Family improves to 4-2-0 overall and 3-0-0 in conference play after winning its fourth straight game.  The win also marked the team's fourth straight shutout and third against CACC competition as the Tigers have outscored conference opponents, 14-0, this season.  Bloomfield is now 1-4-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the CACC.

All the scoring for the Tigers came within a five-minute span of one another.  Sophomore Jenna Richards (Croydon, Pa./Conwell Egan) got the scoring started in the 18th minute scoring in front of the net after receiving a cross pass.  Senior Corinne Retter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and sophomore Lisa Abramski (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) were credited with the assist on the play.

Two minutes later, freshman Ashley Shackleford (Burlington, N.J./Holy Cross HS) doubled the Tigers lead with an unassisted score after taking advantage of a turnover by Bloomfield.

Abramski would cap the Tigers scoring in the 23rd minute scoring off a pass from junior Madison Hudson (Oakville, Ontario - Canada/Oakville Trafalgar) to give the Tigers a 3-0 advantage.

Freshman goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) made seven saves in net for the Tigers to preserve the shutout.  In the process, Smith has now gone 313:17 without allowing a goal by the opposition.

Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, September 25 as the Tigers travel to face Dowling College in a non-conference contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
