Holy Family University Athletics

Junior Isaiah Gans was named the CACC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 14. Holy Family (7-2, 3-0 CACC) went 1-1 versus non-conference opponents this past week.  The Tigers opened the week with their first ever victory over Bowie State University with a 79-68 road win on Wednesday.  The team capped the week down in West Virginia to face nationally ranked No. 1 West Liberty University on Sunday.  The Hilltoppers bettered the Tigers by three points with an 89-86 victory.

Gans averaged over 20 points per game this past week as he registered 21.5 per game while shooting 17-of-31 (.548) from the field.  He recorded his first double-double of the season at Bowie State with 22 points and a season-high 11 rebounds; all coming on the defensive end.  Against West Liberty, Gans totaled 21 points for his third straight 20-plus point performance.  He also grabbed nine total boards, including six off the defensive end.  In addition, Gans totaled a pair of steals and one blocked shot on the week.
