Sophomore Laura Tamas was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 5. Earning Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the first time in her career, Tamas helped the Tigers to a 2-1 week as Holy Family improved to 7-10 overall and 5-2 in the CACC. Holy Family defeated Goldey-Beacom College, 3-1, last Monday before its loss at Wilmington University (3-0) on Friday night. The Tigers bounced back on Saturday to defeat Nyack College, 3-1, at the Campus Center Gymnasium.

Tamas averaged 5.45 digs per set defensively for the Tigers. She recorded a career-high 30 digs in the win at Goldey-Beacom and followed that performance with back-to-back 15 dig outings versus the Wildcats and Warriors. In addition, Tamas totaled 89 receptions off the serve and made only three errors to record a .966 reception percentage. She had 38 attempts against the Lightning and made zero errors.
