Holy Family University Athletics

Freshman sprinter Ricky Meriwether couldn't have asked for a better start of the new outdoor track & field season as he finished first overall in the 400-meter dash at the Philadelphia College Classic hosted by the University of Pennsylvania this past Saturday.  In his first outdoor performance, Meriwether edged out La Salle's Cris Hunter (49.93) by less than a second to earn the victory in a time of 49.43 seconds.  Holy Family, the lone Division II school in attendance, was competing against the local area Division I schools.  Meriwether was also part of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished second overall in a time of 3:22.73.  The Tigers were edged out by the relay team from Penn who won the event in a time of 3:21.26.
