Jami Hughes

Hughes, the assistant athletic director for operations since Nov. 2014, added the title of SWA in July 2023 and was promoted to Associate Athletic Director in July 2024. She coordinates, runs and supervises all athletic events for Holy Family’s 19 intercollegiate teams and is the sport supervisor for softball, women’s soccer and men’s and women’s basketball.

In her role with the Tigers, Hughes manages and coordinates the transportation schedule and reservations for the department. She also prepares facilities for game day events, including reservations, set-up, and breakdown, and facilitates community use of the university’s athletic facilities.

She has served as the tournament manager for the 2016 Division II Men’s Basketball East Region Tournament, the 2019 and 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Championships and the 2022 CACC Soccer Championships, and has been on the East Region Division II Softball RAC since 2022-23.

Hughes arrived at HFU from Pennsylvania College of Technology, where she was the assistant director of athletics, sports information director and senior women’s administrator from Aug. 2010 through Oct. 2014, helping plan and oversee the college’s move to NCAA Division II.

During her four years she handled the day-to-day operations for the college’s 11 intercollegiate teams, including coordinating, updating and maintaining the athletic schedule, and served as the advisor for the Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) composed of over twenty-five student-athletes.

She also oversaw a complete revamp of the sports information office and athletic website, which included the website design, statistical maintenance and recordkeeping, and the distribution of press releases.

Hughes began her career in collegiate athletics as the sports information director at her alma mater, Rosemont College, from 2005-10. She also coached the softball team, first as an assistant before taking over as the head coach in 2010.

Hughes graduated Cum Laude from Rosemont with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a certification in Secondary Education.

While there, she was a four-year letterwinner in both field hockey and softball. She was a four-time All-PAC selection in the latter, for which she was also elected team captain, and a member of both SAAC and the Honor Society.

Hughes went on to earn her master’s degree in Sports and Recreation Administration from Temple University in 2009.
